I washed my car today for the first time yesterday and i went out and got the meguiars vinyl protectant. I sprayed it lightly all around, but some spots got a little more than intended. i tried to wipe it down, but i didn't get a chance? any way to get rid of this?

The spots are likely due to the uneven application. Never spray a protectant directly on your top. Always spray the protectant on an applicator or towel and then use that to apply the protectant to the top. This will insure even application.

I'm not terribly sure what you could due to eliminate the uneven look on your top, but I would try a vinyl cleaner like Ragg Topp cleaner, 303 Convertible Top Cleaner, or Megs Vinyl Cleaner. Afterward be sure to re-apply your protectant.
