Default Spots on Polished Valve Cover Wont Come Off!

I have a Ricks polished valve cover. I never saw this happen during the summer months, but now with winter upon us I am getting what look like hard water spots on my cover and they will not come off. I'm guessing that it has to do with condensation. Theese spots were all over my supercharger as well, but they came off just fine. I have tried just about everything I can think of to get theese spots off, and have had no luck. Mothers, Never Dull, Flitz.....even polishing compound with a high speed polisher and still, nothing!

Anyone have a suggestion for another product to throw at it?

vinegar...
rub it on lightly, let it sit for just long enough to penetrate the spots, then remove.
if this doesnt do it, then they arent water spots- or you have etched the finish and a good stainless polish would be needed (did you really work the products that you tried, or did you just wipe on and wipe off)?

Vinegar? Interesting. I'll have to give it a try. At first, yes I did just rub on and rub off. When that didn't do a thing, I really worked the stuff in. It made a small improvement, but still very noticeable. I'll try your advise and see what happens. Thanks!

By chance, does anyone know if Rick's polished valve cover is clearcoated? It dosent appear to be but I thought I'd ask.
