Default Spilled oil inside car

So I carry around a bottle of oil for obvious reasons. I make sure it is closed tight. Although this time I reached behind my seat for a rag and it was wet. It smelt like oil, the rag was completely wet while my carpet isn't. Silly question here, if I spilled oil on the carpet it should be wet right? The car does have a smell but not very strong.

yeah, you'd feel it. Some hardcore degreaser like this: http://www.detailersdomain.com/Optim...-oz_p_672.html should do the trick.

Or pull the seat and shampoo the carpet.

That's what I figured, it should be wet. I had some crazy thought that the oil evaporated

Sprinkle baking soda over the carpet in the suspected spill area. If there is any oil you will know right away as the baking soda will turn black. If it does wait until it drys a day or so then vacuum and repeat. If there is no oil the baking soda will help remove the odor.
