Default Sonax wheel cleaner turns brake caliper white

Anyone know other than painting the calipers a way to remove this white coating off the calipers? I've learned my lesson to probably not use this stuff unless the wheels are off the car.

I just re-use the normal shampoo (AutoGlym) that I'm washing the car for the wheels..

I wouldn't worry particularly for the colour of the calipers. Maybe it's time for a little DIY and some VHT paint?

Sounds like you let it dry on there. Or your calipers were badly refinished

I use sonax ALOT on my car for the past two years and haven't had any issues. It works great

Probably a combo of both scenarios. Oh well.

I suggest trying some regular polish or metal polish. Should get that white stuff off if it's not too bad.

Ah yes. Make sense. I'll try that sometime.

can you post up a photo of it, it was probably not rinsed off well so you may need to hit it with a light polish.

I found that the sonax removes the contamination like it is suppose to. I take the wheels off once in a while and soak the calipers and brush them and they look "white" compared to before the wash. If you spray them and just let them be with only a rinse im sure you have just an uneven clean
