However, if you had a darker car you would get noticeable water spots. You may still have water spots, but they're harder to see on silver.
Ya ... I really like the black color. However, the fact that I would have to deal with water spots and swirl marks without a proper garage makes it impossible/big headache, and drove me away from that color.

The problem (at least around here) with driving the car to "air dry" it is that the wet tires grab all the dust and dirt off the road and fling it back onto the sides of the car as light mud.
I always thought Calgary's very clean! Oh well ... I don't know. I've only air dried my car twice in some middle of no where places, but haven't done it around where I live (NY).

I miss my leaf blower My neighbors used to think I was a freak using the leaf blower on my previous car in Vancouver ... but I swear, the car had almost no swirl marks, even under street lights at night. Those few marks were probably from the dealer before the car was sold to me (I always asked dealer not to wash my car when I brought it in for service ...).

Well, we do come out of a very long, filthy winter every year and even after they clean the streets, it's still not anything you could "eat off of". There's always enough grime on a "clean" road that the wet tires will fling stuff up. You won't see it till it dries. Then you realize just how dirty the roads really are.

As for the leaf blower, my neighbours already know I'm a nut job, so it would actually alarm them if they didn't hear my leaf blower fire up after a car wash.

Oops! Thanks for the warning on dry-wiping. Too bad, it seemed like a quick way to keep car looking good between washes. But see the downside and won't do that anymore.

>>PC<<

???

I will read the guide on bettercarcare.com.

Thanks.
PC = Porter Cable (brand) random orbital polisher. It's a very nice addition to a wax/polish kit. It's also easier to use than most people think. Heck even I was able to learn how

I think the model #7336 is most popular as it comes with the ability to use 6" pads (foam pads for polishes and swirl mark removers ...etc) THat's the one I have and it's awsome. Going to use it today...
