My S is black and I cover it with the Honda S2000 cover religiously. But I always let the car cool down before I cover it. I've never had any hazing (just a ton of lint). Don't know if that helps, but that's my experience.

will probably "paint clean" the entire car- and its sounding like time for something more aggressive for the blotches. time to try the 3m swirl remover...

I got most of the grease smudge off of my front end with P21s Total Auto Wash, which is a citrus degreaser. Just spray on, let sit for 5 minutes, wipe off. You do have to wax the area afterwards tho

davefromsydney- any idea of what product they used to remove the smudges? (can you ask them please?)
vino67- sounds like it would be worth trying! i also have some other citrus degreasers... might try those too.

dave- many of us use orbitals with no consequence to the clear coat... its not the machine that takes the clear down, but what is used.
sounds to me like it was a swirl and scratch remover (that will take some clear with it). if they told you that you can only do it a couple more times then it was probably a higher grit compound, such as a rubbing compound (not likely though, unless your scratches were pretty severe).
many pro detailers use non-orbital machines especially on older cars without clear (very dangerous for us non-pros- very easy to damage the paint).
