slightly OT- home carpet deep cleaning?
i want to deep clean the carpets in the bedrooms - they are not trashed or anything but got some stains & whatnot I wanna get rid of.
i've never done carpet shampoos before, do you get good results from rental units at home depot? or is this somehting i better pay the pros.
figured i'd ask the detailing gurus here!

We have all white carpet in our house and I find if I try to do it myself I have to do it more often and it still doesn't look as good then if I call the pros. The cleaning agents they use and their machines work much better than any of the rental systems we've used.

I have a Kenmore Heavy Duty steam cleaner, in which I use for almost everything. I use it to do customers cars sometimes, as well as my carpet in my house. As a matter of fact, I'm half way done doing my big room right now. I'm using Woolite Oxy Deep as a cleaner. 2 oz/gallon of Hot Tap water. It works great. This is not a stand up type steam cleaner. It's a spray it, and scrub it on your hands and knees type steam cleaner, but you get much better results.
Hope this helps!
