Default is simple green safe to use on alloy rims?

it sure makes cleaning rims easier - but is it safe? it says it's biodegradable and pH is ~8 on the bottle..?

might be o.k., but why not use a product that you know is safe and meant for the job?
imo, not worth taking any chances- there are so many great wheel cleaners out there...
you need a non-acid based (because of the clear coat) wheel cleaner for our rims- several are here:

also, be sure to preserve them after- i like two coats of synthetic covered by one carnuba.

I agree with wanabe but if you're still going to do it, 3 parts water to 1 part simple green.
