OK, let me join the fray. I found this URL for Ferrari owners :

http://www.ferrariclub.com/faq/clean.html

Their recommendation : Finish First !

If it's good enough for THOSE guys, I figure it's good enough for me. I've sent in my order...

It sounds to me like both products are polymer-based, and both do about the same thing. UV-protection, easy application, fills in swirl marks, non-abrasive, etc. Is there any real data showing which product lasts longer?

I can't imagine any polish making the car look better than Zaino. Maybe as good. Since the price is about the same as Zaino, and there are so many great stories about Zaino on this site, I'm gonna stick with it until I hear any different.

Sorry, i was referring to chemicals that clean your paint. Those are a bit too harsh for me. Any chemical that can take off oxidized paint scares me. As I said earlier though. If it works for you, stick with it.

This weekend I skipped going racing to Zaino the car. A couple of people were interested in pics (my graphics guy & a sponsor), so I took my time and did it right. I've got my second coat of Z5 on it now, waiting to dry.

I washed the car with dishwashing detergent, then used bug and tar remover on it to get as many cone marks off as I could (and assorted bug guts). Then I used the clay bar with the Z7/water mix, and I'm uncertain how well I did it. It seemed to either be too wet or too dry, but it did pull off quite a bit of gunk. Then the Z1 and Z5 on over it. I put the Z5 on a little think, methinks, because it was a little difficult to remove. Then I followed up with the Z6. The results? One word -

Maybe I put on the first (and only) coat of Z5 too thick, but I did wind up with some white paste residue in some crevices, like the fender/bumper joints. I also can't say that I'm dazzled with the results after following the directions for prepping , claying, etc., and applying the Z5 plus two coats of Z2 with Z6 between. My black S2k had an after-market Teflon coating, as does my Jaguar, and I think that looks just as good as my silver with the Zaino treatment.
