Default silicone on the paint? damage? or not?

i was thinking about siliconing the side strakes to the car... i probably will never take them off, i mean, theres a hole in the car anyway. so i always need the strakes to be there... BUT, i was wondering, if for some weird reason i buy skirts later, will the silicone damage the paint? im assuming its nothing some GOO GONE wouldn't take off...

is silicone going to hold at high speeds?? (don't think so -don't really know but it would suck to lose one/two) just drill the holds and i'm pretty sure skirts will cover the holes..

silicone is only good for one thing

i would think silicone would hold better than nothing... i already have the holes drilled and the strakes installed... its just thats obviously not enough... so im thinking either silicone, or double sided tape..

Well, I think this is the same stuff my friend uses on his home-built, >200mph airplane. I have no idea how to get that stuff off, though.
