Default Seat Treatment

This is my first drop top since I have moved to Alabama from up North. I have the top down 95% of the time. Since the sun seems to be much stronger down here I use either Meguiar's or Armorall leather treatment and cleaner just about every week.

Is this overkill ? It is rare for there to be a passenger since this is my daily driver. I am concerned about the beating the right side gets from the sun.

I think treating the leather only when you see hairline cracks or dryness is necessary, once a week is overkill.

if you are doing it once a week and cleaning first then conditioning i doubt that you will hurt the leather -
i would reduce the amount of cleaner (unless your rag says its that dirty)... the conditioning is the most important step anyway.
no real need to do it that often unless you are leaving the top down a lot with the car parked outside. if you are doing that, a car cover is in order.
i would also suggest that someone that into leather should try out the townsend leather products (cleaner and separate conditioner)- if you do, be sure to write up your thoughts on the comparo with the products that you are using now.

yes you are drastically overdoing it and you should definitely drop the armor all products, I saw some serious leather devastation caused by them this past week...stay away from that stuff at all costs.
