scratches on windshield
Well I borrowed my mom's car for a couple of days.
We're having bad weather in Dallas area recently. I had a little ice on the windshield so I used what I though was a flat bottomed glass bottle to scratch the ice off. Turns out there were some perforations in the bottle that left scratch marks over the windshield.
Can I get these buffed out or do I have to get the windshield replaced?
sorry for a bit of a vague question

A little bit of jeweller's rouge may do the trick. I believe it is the compound that most jewellers use to to polish precious gems. If the scratches are too deep, you may be S.O.L, but its worth a try,
Good luck

Let me know what you find out... I have scratches all over my window, and would like to get the fixed. When I went to a glass shop they said they only way was to replace the windshield... I haven't done that yet...waiting for a big rock chip first...

The Eastwood Company has a glass polishing kit for $32 that they say will take out any scratches in the glass that you cannot feel with a fingernail
