Scratch In Clearcoat And Scratch X Not Working!
Recently, I've found a sizeable scratch in the the clearcoat on my S2K's hood. It can only be seen at an angle when light is reflected off, especially at night when my garage motion detector light hits it. The scratch cannot be felt with a fingernail.
BUT, after doing a search and seeing the recommendation of more than a few S2K owner for the Meguair's Scratch X, I tried it and it's not working. I've tried three applications and it still looks the same
I've even tried some 3M fine cut rubbing compound to no avail. At this point I want to take to a professional detailer to see if he can help.
What else can I do?
Thanx for any suggestions.

I've had some good results with this product.

This is specific for light colored cars. The also have one for dark colored cars. Not sure which category your color would be in.

If fine rubbing compund doesn't work, it must be a pretty deep scratch. Therefore, I am not sur my solution will work.
I've used the Menzerna products with great results. Given your sucess so far, I would say you would need to use Menzerna's intensive polish first then the final polish. I've found that the Menzerna Final polish was sufficient for most of my needs

I've used both Menzerna, Swirl-x, and 3M swirl remover.... Menzerna beats them hands down.

petraidm,
Thanks for the information. I might just go ahead and try those Mazerna products. Although I personally know a detailer, I'd still rather do it myself.
BTW, the scratch definitely doesn't go down to the metal or paint but must be just deep enough to not work with the Scratch X or rubbing compound.

Hey bro, if you need some Menzerna stuff and don't have it I have some. You can hit me up if you want to try some rather than buy it.
I'm in Laguna Niguel but should be out and about this weekend (going to Spugen on Sat...)
You can reach me on aim @ megasoarer.

PC (Porter Cable) and a yellow or orange cutting pad with some DACP (Meguiar's Dual Action Cleaner Polish) should work. If that doesn't work then move up a notch in abrasiveness.
