Another mobile Detailing job. This car was bought at a auction, the previous owner passed away, and this car had been sitting in a garage for 2 years! the previous owner was a smoker, so i also had to get that smell out! that wasn't easy without a Ozone machine...

my mobile detailing setup

Before Wash

exhaust pipes were going to need some attention...

WOW, this car really was just sitting collecting dust!!

After the wash and clay

now i decided to get to work on the interior, since it was the owner's biggest worry.

paint under the halogens

now it was time to tape up the car. since the silver areas were a sticker i decided it was best not to polish them.

well i thought SIP on a white CCS would do the trick...

but after doing a panel with that combination i wasn't happy with the results, so i decided to step it up a notch to a Orange CCS pad. man this Z06 clear is HARD!

After polishing with SIP and 85RD and LSP

Interior After

Engine After

hope you enjoyed it!

i spent 16 hours on this car!!!

Looks great

Nice decision not to polish over the decals.
Thoughts on the Gummi_Plege?

Interesting that you decided to opt out of polishing over top of the vinyl. I've gotten a couple of requests to detail some race cars - well, "make them look better" - and I was worried for the vinyl. So far, I haven't experienced any problems with the vinyl coming up. However, I'm using a 7424 and not a rotary, so that might be working to my advantage.

I've got no idea why so many people in motorsports circles (autocross and road racing, to be specific) seem to insist on having ratty looking cars. Even the three and a half hours I spent on an ITB Volkswagen last week made a huge difference. Haven't gotten to chat with the car owner yet, but the shop that maintains and transports the car to the track was very happy to unload a car at Mid Ohio that looked shiny and new.

Nice job, BTW!
