ok, after reading most of this thread, i had decided to get a honda paint pen and claybar to fix up my little chips.

When you guys use the paint pen, do you use the brush or the rolling ball "pen"? i cant figure out how to use the rolling ball ... i've tried rolling the pen on paper or cardboard first to get the paint flowing, but nothing works

The rolling ball doesn't roll...more of a depress and dab motion.

Small update, I did another chip with the clay method, and instead of waiting several HOURS, I waited 30 MINUTES for it to set up...seemed to work easier and better. Trial and error depending on the temperature...you can always go back and refill the chip.

You still have to wait at least a week for the paint to dry to actually blend with the pc,

That makes me frown I don't wanna wait a week, cause I will constantly stare at the darker/odd colored black spot.... and want to do it then... Have you tried wetsanding? What about throwing clear over the paint to get the glossy look back?

Even with wetsanding, you have to wait a couple weeks for the paint blobs to dry before you level them off with 1500 grit sandpaper. Paint takes time to set up and dry, just a physics issue...you can probably speed up the drying process by keeping the area lit up with a halogen overnight, like a paint booth does.

The glossy look is not from clear btw, polishing returns the gloss...although you seem to be having a heck of a time getting your technique down.

That wasn't meant as a jab, just an observation. Sucks that you are putting in all the sweat and not getting the results. Berlina really takes a polish like nothing else...mirror anyone

Goodluck, your hard work will pay off.

Been working the past 12 hours at it, and I'm nearly 3/4th done... Just have to do passengers side door, and both passenger fender. I'm doing Polish + ZAIO + two coats of Meguiars liquid wax, and then a coat of P21S on top.... I'm done everything except the P21S to the rest of the car... It's back breaking work.. Im thinking another 3-4 hours, and I should be done. Might do a photoshoot real quick before I go to work with my Cell phone Camera. 3.2 megapixel :-D

Hey guys
ive been trying the paint pen/claybar method... but it hasnt been working too well. I filled in some paint chips with the paint pen, and waited about 24 hrs before claybarring the blob down. I spray the paint blob, and tried to claybar it down by rubbing it back and forth. However, it doesnt seem like im able to get any of the blobbiness away. What am i doing wrong?

Look up a couple posts, depending on the heat, you have to shorten up the cure time to about 30 min to a couple of hours. Trrial and error, when I first did it, it was 65 out.
