OK! finally took the plunge and filled in my chips and just started to sand with 2000grit sandpaper now. My question is, will Menzerna SIP and 106ff be enough to remove the sanding marks and give me that great finish? Also, is it ok that I am using 2000grit instead of 1500grit?

Sounds like you will not have any problems taking down the 2000 grit marks.

You should try leveling the paint blobs with clay in the furture...less stress and gives surprising results.

I've been working on my friends white EP3, and I think I went too far... I was using 2000grit sandpaper with an eraser as my sanding block. I was trying to level out this one area and I just decided to ditch the sanding block and just put the sand paper on my thumb to sand the blob of paint. Well, I sanded it down, but I think I sanded too far!! I can sorta see a bit of grey on the area, almost like I sanded slightly THROUGH the paint and into the steel or primer.

Is it even possible to do so much damage with 2000grit sandpaper? I ensured the area was well lubed... this is on the fender too, not sure what to do as it is pretty obvious!!

So I tried this and it kinda worked on the chips but one some spots the paint looks like little dings. It definitely looks better than the white spots and it looks completely painted but when light shines it looks like it's indented in tiny spots. Should I put more paint on it and try to do the same procedure hoping it will flatten out the surface? I'll try to get some pics
