Default safe to use?

after reading the d.i.y on the engine bay i went out to look for a cleanr/degreaser
i found this
http://www.gunk.com/webassets/word_documen...te_10_24_07.jpg

anyone used it? is it safe? i was looking for an over the counter product..............i saw that simple green makes a "Safe for aluminum" cleaner now.....any thoughts??
what else is "over the counter" as far as engine "shine",.....the stuff you just spray over EVERYTHING and walk away?

i use that stuff at work. its good to clean up grease/oil but i dont think its going to make anything shine.

i have found that WD40 works well on plastic parts and what not.
