Default Rotary and 6" Edge pads

So I couldn't resist, I bought a Chicago rotary buffer from Harbor Freight that was on sale for $29.99 (normal price $49.99) and I'm really eager to try it out. I was thinking of just buying the Edge rotary adapter and just using the 6" DA pads. Has anyone tried that out before or am I better off buying the thinner 8" pads? I'd be really only using the rotary for the cutting stage though so I think I might be ok with just buying the yellow pad.

First, the 6" Edge pads will absolutely work on a rotary if you buy the Edge rotary adapter. If you read threads on Autopia many, many people prefer 6" pads on a rotary for more control.

Second, remember any pad you use on a rotary will be much more aggressive than if you used it on a PC. So, the Edge yellow pad on a rotary will be more aggressive than you need 90% of the time.

I use the 6 and 7.5 inch pads for my rotary.
