Removing wax w/ bonnet

Removing wax w/ bonnet
How many members here apply wax with a PC then use a bonnet for removal? The reason I ask is anytime I tried to use the bonnet it doesn't do a good job removing the paint. I may be putting too much wax on the car because after awhile the bonnet just gets caked and cannot pick up anymore. I end up switching over to an MF towel to remove the remaining wax. Anyone have tips here for quick wax removal?

Once the bonnet get caked, it picks up less and less product. Being the bonnets are so expensive, I use them for a final buff. I use microfiber hand towels for removing the bulk of wax/polish, then use a microfiber bonnet for the final buff.

i sometimes apply with a pad, then remove with a lambswool pad covered by an mf bonnet. sometimes takes more than one bonnet if it cakes.
does sound like you have too much wax on the car- i like the pc for applying cause you can keep the layer really thin. you should barely see the wax when its the right thickness... synthetics are the same.

I agree with the above. I really dont like using the PC/Bonnet for removal. It just...feels more time consuming because of how it eventually cakes and such. I much prefer using a couple of buffing towels and call it good. I like being right down at the surface so I can see the shine start to appear as I remove the haze too.

I've never tried it myself. I wax with zymol Carbon, which mandates that you remove it while it's still wet - so the PC would actually be a bit of a kludge for this application. Removing zymol is *so* easy that I never really found myself wishing the PC was effective.
