11) on passenger side there is no electrical connection to disconnect

Reinstallation is reverse except
1) use thread lock on the seat bolts before reinstalling
Removal

12) Alarm install suggests wrapping shop towels around the ends of the rails. To protect interior/exterior.

Installation

1a ;-) Make sure the rails are lined up even before you put the seat back in the car

I did it once and I scratch the shit out of the plastic on the rear. I remind myself never to take them off again.

When you KNOW that there are stains that you need to get out, it is critical to take the seats out. For any car it makes it so easy to give your carpet a nice deep cleaning. I would suggest that you do this kind of cleaning ATLEAST 1-2 times/year. The longer stains sit, the harder they are to get out. Take this one for example

Before:

After:
did this to my celica convertible. except i was cleaning old school style back then coz i didnt discover the W&W forum yet. i used a brush and laundry soap and i thoroughly scrubbed ever square inch of the carpet. also scrubbed the seats clean. then i left it out in the sun to dry.

looking at it now, i prolly sound like an idiot to you guys coz there are chemicals and sprays that woulda done a better job or cleaned the car faster... but i'm just sharing my experience

I always do this when i detail the interior. But i agree tape up the ends of the seat rails so you don't scratch up the plastic.

Is it necessary to disconnect the battery prior to taking out the seats?

In my previous car, it had a passenger seat weight thing that would tell if there was someone sitting in the seat...and then would flash the seatbelt light if they weren't buckled in. If I didn't disconnect the battery before taking out the seats, the SRS light would come on. I just want to make sure that isn't the case with the s2000.

No you do not need to disconnect the battery to remove the seats (07) and I torque spec my rails.

I do. The seat bolts have an important job, I have a torque wrench, and there's a published torque spec. Why not?
