Default Removing Residue from Headlights

Hey everyone, I'm having a difficult time getting rid of something on my headlights. I had eyelids on the headlights for multiple months before I got tired of them. I used 3M Super Strength Moulding Tape to put the eyelids on and they held quite well. When I took the eyelids and tape off the other day, there is some residue left where the tape was. I thought it was just adhesive but its not sticky to the touch. I also tried using goo-gone, 3M plastic polish, and claybar to get it off but it won't budge. Any suggestions on how to get the marks off? Thanks!

soak it well with wd40... let it sit. resoak and work on it with a rag. will be a slow process but you should be able to get it.
if this doesnt work let us know and we can give you some stronger ideas (the stronger you go the more possible for damage)

The WD40 didn't seem to put much of a dent in it. Idk if I didn't scrub at it enough or what. Its weird, because it looks like it would be adhesive but feels just like its part of the headlight.

I guess theres a lesson out of this: Don't use 3M Moulding Tape on your headlights

Yea I've used heat in the past to get other gunk off the car so I'll try that next. It just doesn't seem like theres anything to scrape off. I just need to take a picture... Its definately from the tape cause its in the shape of where it was.

Sorry for the double post, but the rain stopped temporarily so I snapped a few pics to the best of my ability. Kinda hard to get a good picture of the stuff.

With the flash to get a different perspective

And then two pictures without flash

If you want to get rid of it, follow the directions in the sticky for DIY headlight restoration. I think you'll need to polish that out, especially since you've already tried removing it by chemical means with no success.

My guess - and it's just that, a guess - is that the mark has something to do with the wind making those eyelid things move around while the car is underway.
