Removing LSP?
Hey S2ki!
So a few weekends ago my Cousin and I detailed MY03 BB S2k. We used Menzerna Power Gloss then Meg's M716 Show car glaze polish then sealed with Menzerna Power Lock. The car looked great under the Halogens however a week later when looking at the car under the sun light I noticed some marring in the paint. We should have followed up with a finishing polish but like I said it looked good in the garage. My question now.
How are you taking of wax or sealant?
I need to take off the sealant then I was thinking of using M205 then re-sealing
Thanks!

I can't say enough good things about the Menzerna Power lock It is the ish! It's on sale right now at Detailerdomaine.com (Thanks Phil!). There is a video that shows water just sheeting of the car after applied. I tested it and sure enough it worked!
I still think I need to take off the sealant before applying the M205 though. I hear of people using Dawn dish soap but I wanted to stay away from that if possible. I hear of people have used isopropyl alcohol to take off the LSP....
Thanks!

The reason the car looked OK the first time is because Show Car Glaze is LOADED with fillers. Also, for best results always step down when polishing. Powergloss is highly abrasive. I would only use it on a car in really rough shape. S2Ks have really soft paint and rarely need a polish this abrasive. Anyway, after using such a strong compound you should step down to a polish like Menzerna SIP and then step down again to a polish like Menzerna PO106FF for best results.

OP - You were right about the Menzerna power lock. Easily to apply and wipes off very easily. Very little buffing off necessary. For a sealant it leaves an excellent gloss as well. Highly recommend.

I pre-soak with Optimum Power Clean and then mix it in with my car wash soap to strip wax/sealant/glaze. I usually clay then do a couple of IPA wipedowns as well. I would recommend at least using Power Clean if you used a glaze.
As previously mentioned, you should follow up with something like SIP or Power Finish. You could then use PO85RD and skip the glaze.
