Okay, so what's you favorite method for removing those ugly cone marks? And don't tell me about not hitting any cones! You're either too slow or lying. I never cared about those mark on my old GSR but now...

I've been using Meguiars cleaner for removing my cone marks, it comes in this dark red bottle #2 (I think) but it removes it really well. Just purchase some cotton square applicators too and those cone marks will come right off. I just removed some last night. Good luck.

Would rubbbing compound be too rough for the paint on the car?

I used rubbing compound to remove somebody's bumper marks off my dad's 4runner.

I'm trying to avoid polishing compounds and the like. I may try M's cleaner. So far I get decent results with polishing waxes (Turtle Wax Emerald series works fine). Someday I'll switch to Zaino and see the light...

If you use Zaino the Z1 cleans them off.

Nope, haven't tried a clay bar yet. I figure that'll go along with the full (future) Zaino treatment. WD-40 sounds intriguing. I do get some wicked marks along the vertical outside edge (yeah I know, slow down).
