Default Removing 12v acc outlet cover labeling

Has anyone tried removing the white labeling on the accessory outlet plug/cover that's in the center console below the glovebox?

I've thought about this a few times, but haven't actually sat down to come up with a plan on how to do this (without ruining the finish of the black plastic underneath).

I'm not hell bent on doing this or anything, just caught my attention a while back. I figure it's about as necessary (for me) as having a label on the steering wheel, seats, etc... which is to say, it isn't.

Apply some black electrical tape to a piece of glass.

Then place a dime on the tape and cut around it with a sharp hobby knife. Lift the circle of black tape and place it over the lettering on the cap.

It it unnoticeable and you don't have to worry about screwing up the plastic lid.

Sorry, wanabe. I don't have a digicam (spent all the money elsewhere ).

Interesting suggestion with the electrical tape. I'll give that a run. Thanks.

Got a little nuts and ended up using a dremel with a polishing attachment to rub off the text.

No digital camera... but I'd wager that if your cover doesn't have any text, mine looks just like it.

Now, I wonder if I should put that in the sig as a mod...
