Rear window smears
Since the weather has finally improved, the top has been down more often. When I put the top back up though I notice smears on the back glass. I've cleaned the glass twice with Windex and it looks fine, until that is the roof goes down for the commute home then the next time the roof is up, smears across the back window.

Are you treating to the top with 303 or something similar? It may be excess product on the top that is doing it.
Thanks.

As Emil said you have something on the rear tray that is causing it, put down a towel or any extra pieces of carpets that may fit in the area , when the top goes down it will rest on the soft material. I use some spare floor mats in that area that fit pretty well, I do it to lower any noise over bumps from the window hitting the tray.

Or you can determine what is causing it and find a more permanent solution instead of having to jump out of the car every time you want to lower the top.

Unless he's some how getting smears on the inside (which I've not seen happen with a stock top), then he's going to have to get out of the car.
