Raggtop vinyl cleaner and the protectant work great. Top is black-er and beads water but clean the windows after cause it kinda oils up the glass

How are you guys applying the protectant?

I ended up getting it all over my windows and wow that was a major pain to get clean.

It's raining outside now, and the water isn't beading... there is an 03 convertible Cobra and an E46 M3 vert near my car at work and their tops have the water fully beaded up =(

1. wash and dry the top

2. soak a rag away from the car (dont spray on the top)

3. rub into the top

4. let it sit a while (i detail the rest of the car)

5. take a clean rag and buff it out- if you still see product on the top you can use another clean rag to finish it off

6. get the camera and post em up on this board!!

hmm... that's what I did, but it didn't seem to do anything so I sprayed the stuff directly on the top and smeared it around (wearing latex gloves).

It still seems to not have penetrated or something... my convertible is all soaked when everyone elses has water beading nicely =(

you dont want to spray it onto the top cause you will get overspray on the car, which is not good for your finish (wax/ synthetic) or glass.
did you really soak the rag? if so, you have the protection that you need, beading or not.
