Default Quik wax over NXT?

Just tried NXT paste wax, and it looks great. However, I also have a bottle of the regular Quik Wax, and I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to layer the Quik Wax over the NXT since I can't do multiple layers of NXT? I think the Quik Wax has some mild abrasives in it but was wondering if anyone knows any better?

Thanks!

i dont know the meg products that well...
i do know that you dont use nxt over anything else-
is the quik wax a quick detailers spray?

if so, it would be fine over nxt. we have had posts that products over nxt dont seem to add much. i always thought that a carnuba over the nxt might help nxt's main problem (it doesnt last as long as other synthetics)

Yeah, the quik wax is a quick detail type of product, but does contain some carnuba type wax. The reason I asked was that it appears from the description on the bottle that there are mild cleaner agents == mild abrasives == possibility of stripping NXT..

It would be nice if it didn't and I could use it here and there, like you mentioned, wanabe, to extend the life of the NXT layer without going the whole 9 yards with another full wax

You can not layer most of the waxes or polishes from Meguiar's, as 99%of their products they offer, have cleaners in them... those cleaner will strip thefirst layer off

So to answer your question... no.

given darkknight1999's reply:
another choice- just use a different detailers spray over the nxt...

my pref would be carnuba based- (they are easier to use and less termpermental), but synthetics would prob be o.k. too. just not one that removes other products!

If you want to layer it to give it more depth... apply a good synthetic sealant first and then wax over it with a good carnuba wax. that will give you great depth and twice the protection.

Sealants can last 3-6months depending on the products, most carnuba's only last a few weeks up to 4 in non-daily driven cars. Its just the nature of the compounds.

I haven't posted here for a while, but I've had great success adding depth and protection by using a carnuba over NXT. I prefer the Mothers carnuba paste that contains no cleaners but there are others that are similar. It makes a very noticable difference in appearance while extending the NXT life.
