Default Quick Detailing Spray

Is this the same stuff you use for both lubricating your clay bar and for a quick cleaning inbetween waxing?

most quick detailers sprays use synthetics...
the synthetic that i usually use over carnuba is zaino.
it does not seem to effect the carnuba base.
you can also use a carnuba based spray.
griots makes one that i like, and cant remember for sure, but think that meguiars quick detailing spray might also contatin carnuba-
anyone know?

I like Meguiar's Final Inspection. It contains no silicones or carnuba which is what you want if you layer with some type of polymer/synthetic. Otherwise it prevents "bonding."

I hear good things about Zaino's QD and Clearkote's QD.

Things to look for:
1. Price
2. Ease of use (some streak more easily, some don't)
3. What the QD contains - Carnuba, Silicones, etc. (depends on what you want).
4. Some products you can apply in the sun, some others you do not want to (I don't like Quick Detailing on hot surfaces though).

Find what you like and buy a gallon of it. The price is significantly cheaper.

For example, 1 gallon = 128 fl. oz..
1 bottle (16 oz.) of Final Inspection will cost you $6.99. 1 Gallon will cost you about $22. 8 bottles
@ 6.99 would make 1 galloon. That's 42 bucks! On the other hand, I tend to use a lot more FI when I have a gallon sitting around.

Meguiar's Quick Detail contains some carnuba.
Meguiar's Final Inspection contains no carnuba.
Meguiar's Final Detail (pink) contains silicones.

FYI - Rumor is Meguiar's Final Detail is being replaced shortly with ["Last Touch - Meguiar's Last Touch Spray Detailer produces incredible depth, shine and gloss. This spray-on, wipe-off product has a unique blend of polymeric lubricating agents that gently removes dust, fingerprints, smudges and other contaminates, leaving a flawless, showroom shine."

Edit: Oops. Forgot the original question - You can use a QD spray to lubricate while claying. They say you can dilute it with a 1:1 solution, I would check with the mfg.. I simply throw my claybar into my wash bucket and clay as I wash when I need to clay. Car soap and water works fine for me with no problems what so ever.

Quick detailing should be easy though, no? I heard the Zaino Detail (z #?) gives a nice shine though. How about posting up the technique (is it in the Zaino FAQ)?

don't waist your money using a QD as a lubricant for clay - simply mix some car washing soap with water (i use 50/50) and spay the mixture on the car, clay the area, then wash when you're done..
