Professional Detailer in Greater Cincinnati?
Has anyone used a professional detailer in SW Ohio that you can recommend? My wife's new (used) Miata is Balck Cherry (black with red metal flakes) and swirled very noticealy - probably beyond my ability to remove by hand...
thanks,
Dave

dave- best place to post this is in your local forum on this board...
most of us are enthusiasts and would encourage you to do it yourself-
for the cost of one detail you could have the supplies that you need for a year or so!
and you would know exactly what was done to the car-
we would be happy to guide you through the process...
another choice- post up in your local club that you will supply products and refreshments if someone with the machine will show you how to do a swirl removal. great way to learn the process and make a friend too!!
(this is one of the suggestions that i make that i get the most positive feedback from)

OK, the heck with it - gonna give it a shot myself - ordered a PC and pads and some Poorboy's 1 and 2.5. Already have a clay kit. I guess I'll be doing battle with the Miata this weekend, and with my S once I'm more comfortable withthe process!
thanks guys,
Dave

I will try and get some pics, but I think it will be difficult on the Miata due to the metal flake paint. Got to get exactly the right angle and then the swirls ( which are pretty bad) JUMP out at you. Played with it a little tonight on the driver's front fender, AIO + some Pinnacle detailing spray makes the red flakes really POP. Past where I did, the paint is really very dull. So most any result will be an improvement. I plan to start with the white pad and PB #1 to get the feel, after I clay and wash the car. I am sure I will have to go more agressive in both pad and polish to get this looking good. Looks like cr*p ATM.
The S is really not in need of a PC at this time, but I'm anxious to see what Laguna looks like with Zaino on it, vs AIO.
Here's what it looks like now; pics from the dealer's lot are all I've got so far:

And black metallic to boot Might as well go for a challenge - the Laguna Blue ought to be easy if I can get the Black Cherry looking sharp.

Im a noob here, mainly since I dont have an S2k, but I live in Cincinnati and go to school in Tennesse. If you would like, and we can work something out, Id be willing to come home and do it on a weekend for you. If youre interested, email me at mgproudfit @ cn.edu (remove the spaces). If you email me, Ill give you my number, and well go from there. I may be young, but Ive been doing this for 4-5 years now and am the moderator over on ClubSi for all this stuff. Just let me know and Ill be more than willing to help ya out.

Thanks, Matt!
The guys here have convinced me to give this a shot myself. If I get stumped, I'll give you a holler, and we can definitely work something out.
