Another good one, Billy. I wish I lived somewhere where the winters weren't cold. I'm having detailing withdrawals.

LOVE IT! Its WAY smoother, can go to 600rpm vs 1000rpm, the handle design is awesome, there is much I could say about it that isnt better than the dewalt. the dewalt however can take a ton of abuse and keep right going, only reason mine broke is bc i wrapped up the cord and it yanked the power cord out of it, so i crappily put it back together to make it work...didnt have any problems for almost 6 months until it decided to crap on me. Ill probably fix it just to have it for a backup.

Billy, everything I've been told leads me to believe that the Makita is just as long-lasting as the Dewalt.

I was using mine today, working on a Suburban with a buddy from detailingbliss. He tried it - he's got a Metabo - and he said "I'm gonna have to get one of these." It's one of those tools that seems perfect - I wouldn't change anything about it.

Have you got a Dewalt service center anywhere near you?

Thanks everyone!

I actually decided not to dress the plastic since there was so much of it. It was in pretty good condition anyhow, if I would have started it Im sure it would have came out blotchy or uneven somehow..
I've been having some issues with Black WOW on trucks with the plastic rail covers and handles. No matter how little I apply, wipe off, buff out the black wow, it will almost always leave a residue that gets onto paint during wipedown either removing LSP or QD'ing. Further, when it rains, you can see some witness marks from the black wow as it drips with the water, and looks bad. It takes some QD to get it off. Just wondering if you or anyone has had similar issues or not.

Yeah I have a dewalt center near me, I just need a new switch/power cord for the dewalt to fix it.
