Default Preserving stainless steel exhaust

Just installed an aftermarket exhaust. The two mufflers canisters directly behind the tailpipes are stainless steel. Is there anything I can/should apply to keep them nice and shiny, to prevent corrosion/discoloration over time? Thanks. Any other tips for keeping it nice and bright? Thanks.

yup-
spugen makes a stainless cleaner
think you can find it at teamspugen.com
i use several diff products, either an old wax-
or whatever i am using on the car body (today i zainoed them).
have used finish first, carnuba and several other synthetics over the past year on mine (i have stainless spugen dual ovals).

some harley guys i know use windex on their machines for cleaning (i wouldnt)... i do hit mine with a quick detail type product every once in awhile between washings.
i think the most important thing to do is keep them clean and preserved (wax or synthetic).

not too long!
which is why i use the detailers sprays in between... synthetics are best- but i doubt that they last too long with that heat either.

brian- there are several polishes out there...
they are great for cleaning.
not too many made for protecting hot parts (luster seal might be one that would work).

Wanabe I'm curious to why you wouldn't use windex or something similar on your exhaust? I've used it for a while without any problems but I'd like to hear you take and why you use QD spray instead. Maybe there is something I'm missing

Any type of natural wax won't hang around on a hot exhaust. I'm not sure about polymers. I just wash mine as part of the car. Stainless steel discolors because of oxidation from high heat involved. You can remove it with a metal polish but it always returns. Blue-Away also works.
