prepping for spring
hey guys, i just got my PC so i was looking for products to use with it.
I was looking into the edge pads because i liked the idea of having dual sided. i havnt read anything about them being bad with durability. anyone have any thoughts on these pads? (http://www.detailcity.com/edge-2000-...polishers.html) were the ones i was looking at, i believe those are the correct ones. if i were to go with those..as a beginner with the pc i would like to not do anything overly agessive. i have an 01 spa with light swirls but nothing major. i was thinking of the white, blue and green pads? thoughts?
after much reading...i havnt found many products that people really DO NOT like....so based on that im really just looking for something that will give me a good bang for the buck. i live near chicago so the weather is always changing and usually not very good. My car is my DD and is not kept in any garage, so durability is also a very big factor. is there anything that sticks out to anyone that they can make personal reccomendations based on my needs?
also if there is anything else that i would need or would make things much better im open for ideas on products.
ive done some reading now i just some thoughts for the experts
thanks in advance for any/all input and advice.

My situation is similar to yours. My black s2 sits outside all the time and I love having it look good.
For scratch/marring/swirl removal, Poorboy's SSR polishes are very user-friendly with the PC. For protection I use Klasse All-In-One and Sealant Glaze. The Klasse twins have a bit of a learning curve, but once you have the hang of them, they make the car look great. And being an acrylic sealant, the combo has excellent durability and longevity. And for that secret touch, I do 3 layers of SG for the shine, and then a carnauba (S100) on top to add depth (as well as more protection).

as for the pads... edges are great-
as a beginner with mild swirls you only need one pad- the lightest cut pad. if you want to use the machine for applying your synthetic or wax protectant you would also want a pad with no cutting action.
extra credit would be a lambswool pad with microfiber bonnets to remove product (klasse, etc.) from the car with.
for a beginner i like finish first- its a one stage synthetic. klasse twins are great, but they require an extra step... not a big deal, but just something to consider. and the p21s or s100 over either finish first or klasse is a geat suggestion. for beginners i suggest that the carnuba stage be done the next time the car needs to be washed.

thanks for the replies guys.
wanabe you mentioned finish first. I typed that into google and got finishfirst.com (sorry if your not supposed to reference webistes on the forum i will delete just let me know). in ther they have "finish first polish" on there. they say it is great for layering and lasts 6-9 months which deffinately sounds nice. is this the product you were referring to? i have never heard anyone mention this but if you recc i will deffinatly give it a go.
is there any advantage or difference between p21s and s100? im seeing the price on p21s is a little higher(probably for a reason) and it seems like the s100 is a wax develeped for motorcycles?
any lambswool pds and microfiber bonnets you can recomend? i see the cobra microfiber bonnets that go over pads, can you just put those over the edge pads or do you need a dedicated lambswool pad?
last thing- the edge pads have the white pad which is their finishing. the blue for polishing and the green for light cutting. what is the difference between the blue and white?
sorry for the lengthy post- just have a lot of research im trying to do and this would all help clarify things
