Is Lusso Oro overhyped? I have never used it myself, but as far as I can tell, it doesn't get much "hype" anywhere. It isn't talked much about on the various forums. The reviews I have read about it have been mainly positive, though. For the money ($40 per tub), it is said to be a good wax, and is often compared to Pinnacle Souveran ($90 per tub) for its look, but said to be twice as durable. I have been hesitating buying it at $40, but I will not hesitate if Detailers Domain should over do a BOGO on it.
Is it not the case that most carnaubas over $20 are over-hyped? Is there really a significant difference in appearance between Megs' M26 and, say, CG 50/50 or PS21 100%? The wax test that Dave KG over at Detailer's World would suggest that the differences between waxes are marginal, at best. Heck, Collinite 915 beat out Zymol Royale! These things are so very subjective.
Don't get me wrong. I still want to believe there are differences and that some waxes are objectively superior; and so I am starting, very modestly, my own wax collection. I just popped for Fuzion a couple of weeks ago when it went on sale at AutoGeek. I hope I can see a real difference, but I fear I may not. But even so, I probably won't stop adding to my collection. I really do want to try out the major waxes (50/50, PS21 100%, Souveran, Lusso Oro, Victoria Concours Red, and Swissvax Best of Show) on my Luthien. It may be folly, but I need to discover the folly myself.
Just my two cents. Not trying to be controversial or confrontive.
Cheers,
Al

There's a few waxes I want to try out myself.
Migliore Fruita
Trade Secret
Collonite 476
Rubbish Boys OE
Dodo Juice Double Wax
Z*mol Atlantique
Prima Banana Gloss
I used to be interested in swissvax, but the novelty has worn off for me.
Maybe the autobahn wheel wax, but that's about it.

I did a comparison between P21S and S100, since I own both. I used the hood of my car as the test subject. Properly prepped it, taped it in half, and applied each wax to one half. There were no differences at all to me between both of the waxes. So, I would buy S100 over P21S again any day of the week.
