Default Porter Cable model question--Which one? New deal!

I am putting a PC on my x-mas list and was wondering which one I should get, the 7336 or the 7424.

7424
7336

This is my entry inti the PC world and any help is appreciated. I have read some links on the different pads and everything so am a little familiar with that.

7424 is the basic machine in the version of a detailers tool... the other is a sander.
and btw, they are both really the same machine!!

The 7336 which is basically the exact same machine as the 7424 can be bought at your local Lowe's for $99 or less. Lower price leaves money for Mr. Claus to buy you pads and a backing plate too.

New awesome deal I think

7336SP

I think the 7336SP is just the 7336 with the polishing pad as well. My lowe's has them for $69.97!!!

I just want to make sure that's the right one, eh?

Yes the 7336sp is the same as the 7424.
The difference is how it is packaged for sale.
The 7424 is packaged with a polishing pad(screws into arbor and is pretty much useless)
The 7336 is sold as a sander with a flat non hook and loop backing plate that you attach the sandpaper too.

You still need a backing plate and polishing pads.
Here is a set for you.

Another place is Coastal Tools PC7424 Theres comes with a backing plate but it isnt as nice as the one included above.
I think the coastal tool pC is 119 plus shipping.
