Does anybody have any experiences with this particular PC? I'm in the market for one and I would rather spend <100 than around 150$. I have no prior experience with porter caable's so keep that in mind. This seems like a pretty good deal me, did anybody bite on this or have any suggestions?

Is this any better?

On a side note, I plan on using 105/205, I've done research on the forums but just to clarify and doublecheck, I will be using orange & white pads respectively, is that right? Thanks for any help

The PC is the standard for da polishers. You have to add a 10-20 dollar backing plate, then get your pads and products. You'll be all set.

Thanks for your help The backing plate you mentioned. Would this work for the 7242XP?

It depends on the size of pads you will be using. If you want a larger one you can use this one too.

get the 3.5 if you plan on getting 4" pads (used for smaller, tighter areas)
or the 5" backing plate for 6.5" pads

I personally use 6.5" pad to buff entire car... I'll eventually get the 4" pad tho for the harder to reach areas

Thanks for the advice, I was actually about to ask about the different sizes hahah. I'll start off with the 6.5" then and if I run into trouble in the future, I'll just order a smaller backing plate/pads. I was wondering, is there a significant difference between the LC vs Uber Pads? I liking the 5-pack Uber pack because I have some other stuff to order from DetailersDomain and I can save on shipping.

Last note on pads, after a lot of browsing through this forum, correct me if I'm wrong - but use the orange pad w/ 105 and white with 205 and black with whatever finishing gloss/polish I get? Would it be good to just get 2 orange/ 2 white/ 1 black? Or do I need red/blue? Thanks spreading the knowledge

I'd get a red so you can machine apply your sealant, also Honda paint is fairly soft. I think when I detail my car next, I might skip the orange + M105 and go straight to white + M205. My point is, you could probably get by with only one orange pad.

ok thanks for the advice!

I'm going to keep throwing out questions haha so I hope it's not too much of an inconvenience. Let's talk brand names. I've got meguiar's, LC and Uber. I actually lean towards the meguiars right now bc of free shipping haha but has anybody used more than one and have opinions? I'm open to anything right now! Thanks again!

I use LC b/c the vendor who sold me my PC sold 'em and there were lots of reviews online. I'm sure they're all good products, or better put, I'm not experienced enough for the differences in brand to be significant to me.
