Default Polishing an NSX

A buddy has an NSX in bad shape so while he's away I stole his keys and brought his car to my house.

A Hitachi rotary, a green 8" Edge wool pad with Presta Cutting creme light first. Of course that hazes the paint so follow it up with a Cyclo with orange pads and Menzerna 106FF. I used the PC to get places the Cyclo can't reach.

The last step will be Cyclo with white pads and Menzerna PO85RD.

He has some deep clear scratches that would need wet sanded, but i'll get most of them with the above combo.

The tools

The culprit

Someone use a brillo pad to wash this thing? The camera can focus on the scratches.

Okay so I had to finish at least one panel all the way to see the results. It's so hard to focus on anythng to show the difference but this panel behind the driver door now looks like black glass.

Looks like a great job so far... I would love to work on an NSX. By the way, what's your impression of the Presta polishes? How would you say they compare to the Optimum and Menzerna line?

I worked on a Silver NSX recently and it was a very, very enjoyable day and a great car to work on

Products were #83, #80, (Polishing pad for both) followed by Zaino gloss enhancer, Merzerna FMJ and #16 Mirror Glaze wax

Damn you guys need to move closer to me so i can pick your brains i mean all three of my friends whom which have s2k's are all mechanically inclined with a wrench and are fans of doing work to our cars. But not one person is a BIG fan of the wax and wash section of the forums.
I could do a motor swap but i dont have the first clue about doing a Perfect wash and wax job on my car go figure.
I need to post on here and read here more often.
You guys do a VERY GOOD job on your cars

Marcus
