Default Plastic Covers on Headlights - scratches

Anyone tried to clean the plastic covers over the headlamps? Mine are a bit scratched and not as clear as would like.

I am tempted to use the same "Blue Magic" acrylic ploish and scratch remover as I use on the aeroscreen.

Just wanted to see if anyone has a sure fired solution.

If not, I think I'm gonna give it a go.

Thanx in advance,
Hockey

WAIT! Someone PM'd me not long ago about having just completed an effort to try and take out some scratches and lines from his headlight lens. I cannot remember what brand of scratch remover he used but he was distraught about having hazed his headlight assembly with the product.
It is very difficult to get true scratches out of clear plastic like this. Your best bet is to use Plexus repeatedly. You might try to buff gently using a power buffer and Plexus.
Be careful with that scratch remover. These are exceedingly expensive headlights.

Oops, I see wanabe also posted at the same time as me.

Thanx xviper,

That's the kinda heads up I was looking for.

I DEFINITELY don't wanna haze up those lenses. I had a friend point them out to me the other day, and I can't stand when OTHER people see anything wrong with the S. I know whats wrong with it, but when they see it, there is a problem.

I'll hold off for now, and finally try the plexus.

Good lookin' out!

You could try the Plastic Lens Cleaning Kit from www.properautocare.com , comes with Renovo and Plexus and instructions on how to use them.
