Well...
The stepper is the only dent in my ABS rear bumper. I plan on using 3M flexible filler, paint and clear coat.
For some of the rock chip damage to the sides, I actually had great success filling in the chip and sanding with super-fine silica sandpaper.
I'm thinking that I could, might, maybe have some success with my 60 dollars of repair material on the bumpers front and back.
GREAT Looking S, btw! Like the hard top.

Also, I'm taking a break from track events to "lick the wounds". Tracking the S is rough on the S... but it is SOMUCHFUN! So, I'm taking just a bit of a break to do some restore work.

I'll post pics ...

Okay... Here it is...
I was able to FIX my minor dings on the ABS rear bumper. Shops will tell you to buy a new bumper and sometimes repaint the entire new bumper, but here it is... you can do it!

Here's the damage from my golf bags

Here's the damage from the wife's stepper that I backed up in to.

I used filler to fill in the stepper damage

Painted with Silverstone and covered with clear coat

After painting the stepper damage

Final Result... damned - near perfect!

The entire "kit" cost me 60 bucks. I got two cans of silverstone spray, putty, sandpaper, and clear coat.
I have not even used a quarter of the silverstone spray from one can.

Tomorrow, I'll be using 2500 grit sandpaper to smoothe out the clear coat and finish with cutting cream. The result should be fantastic.
The color was matched perfectly by my local auto paint store.

Procedure:
1. Clean damaged area. Use 600+ grit sandpaper and a damp cloth.
2. Fill the dented area with 3M flexible "bondo".
3. Sand area with 600 + grit sandpaper to match surrounding contour.
4. Spray with matched paint.
5. Spray second coat.
6. Spray with clear coat. Do Not use tape for borders. Use "feathering" technique.
7. Spray with second coat of clear coat - again overspraying with feathering.
8. Let dry for 48 hours.
9. Sand with 2500 + grit sandpaper to blend clear coats.
10. Apply Finishing Cream to polish all surfaces and blend.
11. Wait for one week to use waxes.
12. Should be PERFECT!

Where did you get the spray paint again? At the same place you got the bondo? How much per can?

My local paint shop. Space Age Paints. The paint cost 35 bucks and I got two cans. I just used the color code and the paint shop mixed up a batch and put it in to cans.

Has anyone ever seen the metal technique called leading? You can do the same with plastic. Heat up a piece of ABS until it melts. Use a HOT spatula (metal) to spread into the dents. Make sure you push INTO the dent to fill it. Scrape off excess. Sand, primer, paint, done.
