Places in Austin to wash my S2000?

I live in an apartment complex, and thus must find somewhere else to wash my car. I'm not taking it to an automated car wash, and most of the do-it-yourself places have NO BUCKET WASHING signs posted. I've already been chased away from one car wash (although I took less time to handwash than some ignoramus using the foaming brush on a new Z3), and just want to pull in, use their wand for wetting and rinsing, and soap and wash it myself. A nice shady area to dry it would also be nice. So far the only one I've found that consistently works out for me is 25 miles away up in Cedar Park. Any ideas? I hear Riata on Research Blvd has "car washing stations" in their complex, but I don't want to move.

I saw a hand wash place on 620, near 183. They might give you a discount to wash it your self with their materials. I know I would. Make money and no labor overhead required. Hmmmm you may have an idea there.

It's been a long time since I did the apartment thing. There is no place to connect a hose to an outside faucet, 'cause that, and a bucket (with a few wash accessories is all you need. How 'bout it schatten, any suggestions.

How about these school fundraiser things they do on weekends. I'm sure they would let you volunteer to wash one car. Yours. Tip the usual 5 bucks and your done. Just make sure you change the soap water.

This is what I do at the DIY places - don't know if it'll work for you but I haven't been yelled at and at times have washed with 5 cars behind me:
I
1) Presoak
2) High Pressure Soap
3) Use the Foaming Brush to get the soap on the S (not scrubbing just getting the soap on there - who knows where that brush has been)
4) Then using a wash mitt to get the real dirt out
5) Rinse
6) Pull out and dry in the lot
Good luck

Wow, Sondra, what a generous offer! Where do you live? Luckily I so rarely drive my S2000 that it almost never needs an actual wash job. I'll be taking her on a road trip (her first!) next week and expect I'll return with a dirty car. The last place I lived in Austin was great - I could hand wash the car myself, but it also didn't have a fully enclosed garage and this lead to my top getting shredded two months after I bought the car. Now I'm *extremely* paranoid about parking it on public. It's a good thing I've got the del Sol for daily routine tasks.
