PC7424 Troubleshooting?
I borrowed my friends PC7424 and noticed that so far we haven't had any luck with it. Numerous times I said it's not spinning and others just ignored me. Well I borrowed the tool with intention of detailing my friends 3.2TL.
I once again got a feeling it's not rotating so I grabbed a pen and made a mark on the backing pad. I was correct. Here are the conditions under which the buffer does not spin....
- Put more then 5 pounds of pressure it won't spin
- With one pound of pressure or less it will spin but constantly start and stop depending on the angle.. IT HAS to be nearly perfectly parallel with the ground.
- In the air the machine will start, stop, start stop spinning.
Should I tell my buddy he needs a new one or there is a way to take it apart and correct this problem?
Thanks!
Dmitriy

now this is a first!
i have never taken one apart, so i gotta say that i dont know- does sound like its in need of something!
it certainly should keep spinning "in the air"- thats how i dry my pads...
would prob be worth opening it up to see if you can find the problem, but it is likely that a new machine is in your friend's future.
