Default PC Pad question

Quick question- can I use Sonus pads with Zaino polish? If so- which pad for which layer?

And...

What other pads are out there? Where can I find them?

If this has been covered in a previous thread, please let me know.

Thanks, Chris

P.S.- I'm tired of doing this all by hand and knowing a PC would have done much better- that's why I'm asking!

first, most folks dont use the machine to apply and remove product (however, some of us do!)
the pc is usually used for polishing- polishing is like sanding... it removes a very small amount of the clear coat to remove defects (swirls, slight scratches, etc.). you need a pad with cutting action for polishing (the level of cut relates to the level of polish). the goal of polish is to restore the new look to the paint. then you need to protect it after you have polished.
so the answer to your question is that you do not need pads with zaino (z2, i assume you mean). if you do use the pad to apply any end (or last) stage product (wax or synthetic) for protection, you want a pad that has no cutting action. lake country is another good manufacturer (sonus is fine too). properautocare.com sells lake country.
so i think the question that i have for you is what are you trying to accomplish? once we know that, we can guide you on pads.

If you have the sonus das pads then the black pad should be fine. Applying last step products with a PC has always allowed me to put a really uniform thin layer that is easily wiped off. The only negative is that you'll probably waste a little more product than if you applied by hand. You'll still need to apply by hand to get into the little nooks but other than that the PC is a real time saver.

Hey Wanabe,

My S2000 is and has been my daily driver since I got it last summer. This has began to take its toll and I want to keep the car looking new. The paint is still in great condition, but it's starting to get a couple scratches and the polishing by hand isn't doing as much as it did early on. So I guess the purpose of the PC will be to keep the car in good form since its out and about much more often...Is that enough info for some guidance?
