Default PC 7424 questions

It's the first time i use the PC7424 with the Sonus DAS pads and i have couple questions.

here's what i did
1.Clay
2.Menzerna intense polish
3.Menzerna final polish
4.Klasse All In One
5.Klasse Glaze

haven;t went through the waxing yet

Here's my first question. I have a hard time using the PC to get either the final polish or the glaze off the paint (i set the rpm at 3-4) I use the sonus DAS Buffing Bonnet. So my question is am i set the speed too slow or I applied too much product ?

here's my another question.

i try the same method on my friend's car but it seems like the swirl mark is too deep to be removed by my sonus pad , is there any other pad will get the job done better ? or i need a stronger polish ? also will the pc7424 get the job done like this kind of scratches ? thanx

that's before

that's after

finally , how long or i should say how many times will a pad last ? cause after 2 uses i found that there's some obvious worn on the green sonus pad already.

Did you only use the green pad?

What stuff did you use on what Pad?

I use DAS pads and found them to be fine on my car, i used the Orange with a slight cutting polish to get the scratches/swirls out, and green for normal polish. Starting at about 2 and working up to full speed as the product gets worked in.

Did you work the polish in until there was only a fine haze before you tried to buff it off?

Did you let the product dry out before you tried to buff it off?

Lifetime on the pad is depending on the size of the vehicle you are working on, the ammount and kind of polish you use, how much pressure ect, the DAS pads have a 10 use warrenty IIRC though.

I read up loads on how to's and any tips i could find before i even ordered my PC and it was worth all the preperation for the results it gave.

Depending on how hard the clear is, IP and the orange cutting pad should get scratches out of most finishes. However, keep in mind that if the scratches can be felt with a finger nail that they may be too deep for any real correction.

Definitely go to autopia.org and read up on the PC faqs and you should have more than enough info to get the job done. Without knowing your actual technique, make sure that you're using speed 6, putting enough pressure on the PC, using multiple slow passes, and make sure that your breaking the IP down enough.

as mikeyc recommended to me, watch the how to use PC dvd...

http://www.showcargarage.com/index.p...e=1960Corvette

The guy is definately a pro, and he recommends you always polish at 5k opm and apply wax/sealant at 3k opm.
