paint on hood fading
OK. So the paint on my Black S is faded. There are all these little white dots. Millions and billions of them. They are not chips or sandblast.
Anyone else have this issue? i am talking to the dealer on friday.

The small white dots could also be some sort of debri? Maybe some sap or overspray? If so, then claying should take care of the problem.
The fading is probably just a slight oxidation. You should follow up with a good polish and wax/sealant. If you want to go simple, then Klasse AIO is excellent at taking out oxidation.
Of course it would be helpful if you posted pics. It could actually be some sort of clear coat failure.

echo the above... as sam said, pics might help.
have you checked for the need to clay? if you can feel the spots, clay might get them.
also you say the paint is faded- like a lighter color?
if the paint has been damaged by lack of wax/protection and sun damage, this might be hard to fix- but this is what i would do:
from what you describe, my first suggestion would be a fine cut compound with a porter cable (maybe after claying). this should get rid of surface imperfections, and should restore the paint color. this might get it back to new, but if not i would need to know what the results were before recommending the next step.
some good how tos on polishing:

if this works, then you need to put a good wax or synthetic product on the car.

Thanks everyone.
I take good care of the car. Wax it often. Cover it at night.
I have taken to a professional detailer who even color sanded the whole car and couldn't solve it.
And it doesn't seem to be from sand cuz the hood is still smooth. not pitted or rough.
it actually looks like to paint is fading.
i am going to the dealer tomorrow. will post pics if i can capture.
thanks
