Default Which pads to buy for PC?

Hello everyone,

Just bought a Porter Cable 7424XP. I havent received it yet but I am assuming that it does not come with any kind of pads. Can anyone tell me what I should get for polishing and waxing?

How do I clean these pads? Do I just need one for applying wax and one for polishing? One for applying and removing product for both procedures?

Never used a PC so any advice would be great. I am assuming that these pads attach to a backing plate of some sort? Thanks everyone!

I like EDGE pads. They have a center mount attachment that centers the pad everytime, and makes changes a snap!

Great thanks. Where can I buy these? Any stores or only online? Are there certain pads I should get for polishing and waxing? Thanks.

Which size pad is the best for a PC 7424XP on an S2000? Thanks.

I guess I will get a lite cutting pad for polishing and a smooth pad for waxing? Is that it?

Also do I have to buy a backing plate or does the PC normally come with one? If so, which one? Thanks.

depends on where you buy the PC from, usually they will come with the backing plate but check the descriptions to make sure.

get 5" backing plate from DD, and the 5.5" pads from there too. Some of the best on the market IMO

I bought the Lake Country pad with my Porte Cable and I really like them. Go the the autogeek sight and they give good instructions on what pads to use for scratch removal, polishing, etc. Also I went with the Wolfgang all-in-one polish that works great on scratches and hard water spots.
