Default One thing I've noticed about Mr. Clean

About two months ago, I made a post about water leaking into my passenger headlight after I got done washing my car and I was sort of scared I was going to have to replace the unit. Anyways my dad told me to calm down and the water would leave. He was right. But I was scared about the next time it would rain. Well, it has drizzled, rained, and stormed since then and I have yet to accumulate any water in my headlight.

So a few weeks ago, I washed my car again, and noticed again there was condensation in my headlight casing. So, the past few times I've washed my car, I've avoided spraying the headlight directly with the Mr. Clean Autodry sprayer--and I havent had a problem with water leaking into the headlight.

So I guess what I am getting at is that, especially some of you that clear your lamps, if you use mr clean autodry or a high pressured nozzle, dont spray directly on the lamp units. I dont know if its the pressure or when I switch to the filtered water for the final rinse. But it seems that my water leak comes only when I wash my car using the autodry nozzle. I definately dont pressure spray my top or any of the seals either.

But anyways, I was relieved cause now I'm pretty sure I wont have to replace the lamp unit. I wish I knew though if it was the filtered water--because of the fine mist it sprays, or the pressure from the sprayer.

I you are getting water in your headlamps you have some sort of problem. It's not the high pressure or the filtered water. The headlamps are sealed up tight and the only way I can see getting water in one of them is to spray it from behind. Even then i think you'd need one bulb to be removed.

agree with ubetit...
you need to get the light unit fixed.
lotsa instructions on the board about how to do this-
basically, drop the front bumper and remove the light unit. then you would melt it apart and reassemble.
not a bad idea to have a local member who has done this before help out.
while you are doing this, you can remove/replace the amber lens!!
then it would look like this:

Are those clear or smoked USDM corners?
