BTW, I went onto swissvax website, and the "mystery wax" he used on this car is $549.

That's not his car.

I've read a few of this guy's write ups. They're not usually quite this detailed, but they're always very detailed. He does great work, typically uses various expensive waxes, and often details very nice cars. IIRC, he's good friends with Paul Dalton the detailer who's video from "Top Gear" circulates heavily around the internet.

The very same handmade wax that is personally signed?

I'll take a dozen...

If you keep scrolling down on the price list there is one for $2741 that is custom formulated for a particular car. I am going to Pep Boys to see if they have any in stock after work.

I'd like to have these guys (VXR Marc and Paul Dalton) do a "blind detail test". I want to see one of them detail a car with some uber expensive, hand made wax. I want the other to detail an indentical car, of the exact same color, using the same processes, but only using a high end "regular" wax such as P21S, Natty Blue, etc. etc.

I'd be willing to bet they wouldn't notice the difference between the results. I love the looks on that R8 but at some point I call in paying $500+ for a jar of wax, I just don't think its worth the premium over other high end "over the counter" waxes like P21S.

Better yet, have MikeyC or Wanabe use their favorite products and procedures on the same car. I bet the results would be identical, if not better.
