Default Noobie Detailing. Still learning Some ?'s

So my car has a ton of scratches and swirls so I decided to pick up some things and tackle this hideous paint.

Items I have:

Griot's 6" DA
Machine Polish 2/3
Meguiars clay
Griot's paste wax

Jsut to test it out, I used polish 2 and followed it up with polish 3 and then wax. I've been reading and also asked a few people and they recommended Meguiars M105 since it is more aggressive than Machine Polish 2 to get the deeper scratches out.I know lots of people go with 105/205. I'm a little bit hesitant to use M105 because some people say it's aggressive.

So has anybody ever used a combination of M105 followed up by Griot's polish 3?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. I've checked out the other threads and the paint is just amazing. haha

105 with GG3 shouldn't be too bad. You're mostly gonna be removing any marks left for the more aggressive 105. S clear is really soft; I wouldn't think that GG2 couldn't remove the defects with 2 passes. What pads are you using with the product?

you may want to go from M105 to Menzerna SF4000.
Uber Yellow Pad followed by Uber Green Pad and SF4000.

I'm using the orange pads I got from GG. Red pad for wax. I'll try and do 2 rounds of GG2 and if there are still some scratches that I can get then I may have to go pick up 105.

After looking over the GG pads they only offer 2 from the site I'm on. Orange and Red. Red is waxing and orange is cutting. Pads can really drive the polish to home plate. If you aren't getting the results you want I would try some Lake country pads and get an orange and white. Orange (suitable for 105, gg3 or 2) White (GG2 or 1, or 205). Looks like Griots is really expecting the product to do almost all of the work with a medium cut pad.

Thanks, If it doens't get out most of the scratches going over it a 2nd time with GG2, I'll try a new pad. Where can the Lake Country pads be bought?

I detailed a 96 BMW Z3 which had scratches and bad water marks. Used M105/orange pad working slowly. Polished with M205/white pad then applied Blackfire Wet Diamond protectant and results were very good.
