Default No scrub wheel cleaners

I was curious to know whether or not the use of spray on/rinse off wheels cleaners degrade the sidewall of tires. Like for instance, do they create premature discoloration (fade)?

generally the non-acidic cleaners are o.k.
actually they are all prob ok as long as plenty of water is used. acids degrade materials that they contact when used alone. if you have a wet surface before acid, and you remove it promptly with water it should not damage.
do you have a specific product in mind?

the most popular one is black magic:

i find that the usual wheel cleaners work just fine. the key is a good wheel brush. i usually start out with my car shampoo. if i need more, p21s wheel cleaner is a nice product.

Almost any of the Meguiar's, Chemical Guys and P21S wheel cleaners are safe. Most of the time I use 1Z Blitz diluted at 1:5 for wheels/wells/tires. If the wheels are really nasty, I use Meguiar's Wheel Brightener.

I thought the acid cleaners were for bare aluminum wheels? Do the cleaners for clearcoated wheels contain acid?

Still using Mean Green for my tires & wheels, then p21s for anything that the Mean Green doesn't take off.
