Then there's the time I had my freshly-washed S2000 out on the driveway with the windows down. I came out to find muddy paw prints down the hood. Arg. Cleaned them off and resprayed Z6. Later, when I went out to move the car, I found the rest - the cat had jumped with muddy feet up into the passenger window, wandered across the leather seats and the center console, out the driver side window, and down the hood.
I really don't like cats (and, yes, "we" have one but it never goes outside and never defecates in neighbors' flower beds...).
Next time I washed the car, I was trying to figure out how I managed to create awful "swirl" marks on the hood. Then I recognized the pattern. We worry about sliding a little dirt over our slick, wet car when washing. Imagine what muddy paws do as they slide down the nicely waxed hood. Did I say I don't like cats?

I have scratches up to 8" in length from the neighborhood cats. One of the scratches goes clear through the clearcoat. They seem to jump on my car from the same spot every night, so to combat this I placed a thick blanket on the hood (underneath my covercraft weathershield car cover) and haven't had any new scratches since. NOTE TO THE EDITOR: this maneuver still hasn't stopped them from ejaculating on my car cover yet.....Still working on that solution.
