I am surprised no one has answered this post, so I'll put my $0.02 in.
First of all, my response is based on what I read on Autopia Vs. personal experience.
Z2-Pro is a reformulated product and is differenet than Z2. The key differeneces are in the product application and removal: Z2 Pro dries much faster and can be apllied in cooler temperatures than Z2. According to some, the look is wetter to others it looks the same.
The key for me is drying time. I gave up on Zaino when I had to let Zaino sit on my car for Hours and one time overnight here in Louisiana because of the humidty. This is supposedly not an issue with Z2-pro and I will be trying Zaino again after I deplete some of my other products.
As far as the need for Z1 or ZFX, that hasn't changed. You need Z2 with ZFX for the first coat or Z1 as the first coat. You also need ZFX if you intend to do multiple layers in a 24 hour period.
As for pikkashoe's comment, there was a point in time that Z2-Pro was shipping in Z2 bottles (once again based on what I read). Therefore, If you happened to get one of those bottles and then tried Z2-pro it would be no different.

I am going to order a bottle of the ZFX and the Z2-Pro and try it out for myself. Should I continue waxing or does this stuff replace both polish and wax? If I should continue waxing, should I Zaino before? After? Both? Thanks.

Zaino is a sealant, a very reflective sealant. You can use zaino by itself or if you like a warmer look, top it with a Carnuba. But you should be pleased with zaino by itself.
Remember, The important part of the final look is the vehicle prep!

I don't like NXT and won't use it again period. If you are using Zaino you definately don't need NXT.
As a topper I am talking about a Carnuba like S100, Pinnacle, NAtty's ... etc
Once again just use Zaino and do the proper prep (e.g. Wash clay, swirl removal ... etc). You should be very pleased with the look. The only time I would consider a carnuba topper is if I had a black car.
What I meant by warmer look is: One of the complaints I've read about is that Zaino is too shiney / too reflective. If you apply a carnuba topper it supposedly provides a wetter more reflective look
